Bentley Batur unveiled<\/strong><\/p>\n Only 18 units of the Bentley Mulliner Batur will be created.<\/strong><\/p>\n After a bit of teasing, the Bentley Mulliner Batur has officially debuted. This is a limited edition 2-door grand touring coup\u00e9 that hints at the company\u2019s future styling for their upcoming electric vehicles. However, it should be noted that the Batur itself is not an EV. Far from it. Batur\u2019s design is a preview of the direction the company will take for its first ever battery electric vehicle, due in 2025. The designers mention the \u201cresting beast stance\u201d as the inspiration for the car\u2019s shape. Classic Bentley design cues are married to new ones, including a line that stretches from the bonnet along the length of the car which is called the \u2018endless bonnet\u2019.<\/p>\n Engine:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Powering the Bentley Mulliner Batur is the most powerful variant of their hand-assembled 6.0L twin turbocharged W12 petrol motor,an advanced twelve-cylinder engine. In the Batur, this motor produces over 740 PS and 1000 Nm of torque. To achieve this additional power, a new intake system, upgraded turbochargers, new intercoolers and extensive recalibration was necessary. There\u2019s also a new titanium exhaust system with 3D-printed finishers. An 8-speed dual clutch transmission is paired to this engine.<\/p>\n As the W12 enters its twilight years as Bentley prepares for its electric revolution, it is upgraded with new turbochargers, intercoolers. The 6.0-litre W12 is an advanced twelve-cylinder engine which generates 719.59 bhp and 1,000 Nm of peak torque. The W12 is paired with Bentley\u2019s eight-speed double-clutch transmission.<\/p>\n Bentley says that this engine is on the way out, but did not expressly say that the Batur would indeed be the final model to feature this iconic motor. Matched to the 12-cylinder is an advanced chassis with speed-tuned air suspension, electric active anti-roll control, eLSD, four-wheel steering and torque vectoring.<\/p>\n Design:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n The new design showcases the development of the company\u2019s design principles for its first BEV \u2013 due in 2025 \u2013 and the families of cars that follow.<\/p>\n The new design cues include a line that stretches from the bonnet along the whole length of the car, connecting the bonnet into the body. Meanwhile, the visual mass of the car is moved rearwards, giving the impression that the car is sat on the rear axle.<\/p>\n The Bentley grille is now lower and more upright. At either side of this revised grille is an all new headlight shape which are matched to a new taillight shape as well. Around back is a deployable spoiler. The overall shape is more curvaceous than before with a more subtle play of light and dark surfaces.<\/p>\n Colour and exterior details:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n The British carmaker is offering infinite paint choice with the Batur, with the choice of opting for Mulliner colour palette, fully bespoke paint and even hand-painted graphics. The car can be equipped with aerodynamic additions of front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser.<\/p>\n The coupe sits on 22-inch wheels and the customers will have an option to paint-match the wheels to the body, or have a bespoke contrast scheme.<\/p>\n Interior details:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Inspired by the interior design of its predecessor Bacalar, the Batur builds on the core elements of the Bacalar\u2019s cabin design and adds new sustainable luxury features.<\/p>\n The customers have the option of choosing from a range of sustainable interior materials such as tannage leather, low-carbon leather, and Dinamica, an alternative material to leather.<\/p>\n The carpets are matched to the leather and made from recycled yarn, a first for Bentley. Clients can choose between bright or dark treatments to the interior brightware and titanium options are also available.<\/p>\n \u201cBatur Chevrons\u201d to the outer wings of the seats are embroidered by hand in Snap Orange thread. The metallic elements of the interior are a blend of Black Anodised Aluminium and Satin Titanium, completed with a hallmarked 18 karat gold Bentley Dynamic Drive Selector and \u201812 o\u2019clock\u2019 steering wheel centre band.<\/p>\n Deliveries<\/strong><\/span> are expected to begin by the middle of 2023. Just like the Bacalar, the Batur gets its name from a body of water \u2013 one that is not too far from home.
