In the city, the performance difference between the two cars is not so great but as soon as you touch an open strip of tarmac, the Civic just surges forward. The lower stance, long wheelbase and rigid body make the Civic the more planted of the two and a delight around corners. It?s much more refined and has lower noise levels than the Sx4, which makes you feel you are driving a car a class above. However, ground clearance is another area which is a weakness for the Civic and a strength for the Sx4.
